DOTS –

instructions for use

barefu DOTS

Design aids that make your floor special and give it a stimulating function. Every time you walk on them, you activate and strengthen your feet without the need for extra exercise.

Location of barefu DOTS in the home interior

The stimulation floor has three basic effects on a person – movement, sensory and balance. It is advisable to use DOTS active to make use of the movement effect, which is supposed to stimulate a change in movement stereotype and involves the muscles of the feet. We recommend their application in places where a person moves around. In the home interior, it is mainly the transition areas / corridors.

For a more accurate and especially individual localisation of the right space for the DOTS active barefoot, it is necessary to monitor the movement in the home interior before their application:

» Draw a floor plan of your apartment / house on paper (it does not have to be perfect).

» Imagine and draw the trajectory of movement in the room for the following activities (3 is enough):

a) morning ritual
b) cooking
c) cleaning
d) playing with children or animals
e) eating

» The place where the motion trajectory most often intersects is suitable for sticking the DOTS.

» The density of the DOTS should force the user to step on them and not give them the opportunity to easily bypass them. The distance between the DOTS should not be greater than 25 cm.

» Before sticking them down, tip out the DOTS and test their arrangement. Check that there is no door nearby that can be prevented from opening due to the DOTS.

DOTS static are suitable for sensory stimulation of your feet. During standing and gentle treading on the DOTS, you activate and stimulate individual points on the soles of the feet. Applying them by a washbasin in the bathroom or a sink in the kitchen will create a stimulating place for your feet while you brush your teeth or wash the dishes.

Application of barefu DOTS on the floor

barefu DOTS are fitted with double-sided adhesive tape over the entire surface of the base. They are suitable for gluing on laminate or wooden floors, tiles, cork, linoleum and PVC.

» Degrease and clean the part of the floor to be applied with DOTS.

» Try the DOTS layout (random / geometric / regular arrangement).

» Peel off the protective part of the tape and place the DOTS in the required place.

» Press down.

Moving DOTS to another location

Gently insert a sharp object under the edge of the DOTS and gradually release the adhesive tape (an old credit card with a ground edge has worked for us). Be careful not to damage the floor.

» If the adhesive tape remains on the product, check its stickiness and for any dirt. Sometimes it is possible to unstick and stick the tape several times. Of course, with each peeling off, the stickiness of the tape decreases.

» After moving the DOTS to a new location, press them firmly against the surface. Try with your hands and feet to see if they hold.

» If the tape is damaged – heavy soiling / partial or complete detachment, non-sticking – use the replacement tape supplied with the DOTS.

» If any tape remains in its original position, remove it by repeatedly pressing on it with the tape still on the DOTS to unstick the tape from the floor. If this technique does not work, use white spirit or another glue remover (always try it in advance on a part of the floor not visible to the naked eye).

Warning

» Changing the colour of the floor: for floors that tend to change colour due to time and light – wooden floor, linoleum, cork – it is necessary to take into account the possibility of leaving traces after prolonged application of DOTS.

» Scratching of the floor surface with micro-dust: full-area gluing with DOTS tape eliminates the accumulation of micro-dust under the edges, but with some floors with a less resistant surface it is possible that fine traces of rings will remain after removing DOTS.

» Cleaning: barefu DOTS are not an obstacle when vacuuming or washing the floor. A robotic vacuum cleaner* can even handle them, although it will stay with them for a while longer 🙂

barefu DOTS create an obstacle on your floor. We designed them to be safe and not tripped over. However, care must still be taken – as when walking barefoot on other surfaces and consciously walking barefoot in general.

barefu s.r.o. is not liable for property or health damage caused by improper use of the barefu DOTS.

Safety for children under 3 years: barefu DOTS are treated with a mixture of natural and vegetable oils and waxes, which is safe for humans, animals and children’s toys according to the European standard EN: 71.3 and is resistant to saliva and sweat according to the German industry standard DIN68861-1A.
